Privacy at Godkey
What we collect, and why.
Your windows stay on your machine. Here is what the site keeps, and why.
The app
Godkey reads your windows to place them, and what it learns stays on your machine. It needs no account and no cloud.
To check for updates, it asks our server for the next version. The request names the version it runs, its operating system and its processor.
Feedback leaves only when you press Send in its Feedback form. It sends the kind of message, what you wrote, whether it blocks you, the reason you gave if you were quitting, the screenshots you added, how to reach you if you said so and, only if you switched them on, your setup and your usage statistics. We keep each message to read it and answer you.
Your account
You need an account to download Godkey, not to use it.
Clerk runs the sign-in on this site, with Google, Apple, X or a code sent by email, and no password. Clerk keeps your email address, what Google, Apple or X share with it such as your name, and the cookies that keep you signed in. When you sign up, an automatic check stops bots.
We keep your email address, your Clerk identifier, and when your account was created and last used.
Visits
We count visits without cookies and without storing anything in your browser. We count:
- the pages you open and leave, and the ref tag of the link you followed;
- clicks on Get started on macOS.
Your network address only serves to estimate your country, region and city, and an identifier that changes every day.
Pages of your account are never counted.
Downloads and updates
We count downloads and update checks to see how Godkey is used. These counts never include your email or your account.
Your preferences
The site remembers your language in a cookie and your theme in your browser's storage, only to show itself the way you chose.
Who helps us
Clerk runs sign-in and accounts. Our hosting, visit measurement, bot check and email providers process data only on our behalf, some of them in the United States.
What we don't do
We never sell or rent your data to anyone, we don't show ads, and we don't record your sessions on this site.
Questions and requests
Godkey is made by Cedric (@cedric_coroir on X). Write to us to get a copy of your data, correct it, or delete your account and its email:
